Indiana Jones: The Last Crusade
Indiana Jones is a prototypical action-adventure hero and his skills are never shown better than in the third movie of the legendary series. The main concept of the movie is that the Nazi's are attempting to find the ancient artifact known as the Holy Grail and will use its power to gain power amongst the civilized world. The Holy Grail is said to be the cup that Jesus Christ used at the Last Supper. Jones of course sets out to stop this.
Ever since Indiana's childhood, his father has been obsessed with ancient Christian artifacts and history. This does not exempt the Holy Grail. When the find of the Grail becomes a conflict of interest between the Jones family and the Nazi's, Indiana recalls his resentment for the history of the crusades and the Grail as it took away from many of the childhood memories most other children had, while his father was in his study. This devastated their relationship.
The mysterium of the grail is hidden behind riddles and secrets of the Knights of the Crusades and has to be tracked down all over the world. Jones, as well as the Nazi's, eventually track down the Grail site and when the Nazi's attempt to retrieve it, they are killed as their purpose is not righteous. The power of Grail can taint anyone so it is vital that the one who retrieves it be a penitent man. When Jones reaches the Grail chamber, the antagonists conspirators follow and choose the wrong cup. Indiana chooses the correct cup and is informed that the cup cannot leave the building. In a mix-up of confrontations, Jones' father is shot leading to Indiana bringing the cup outside of the chamber. The building begins to collapse and the Grail is only a few inches from Indy's fingers as he is being held by his father's hand. As Indiana is about to fall, his father redeems their relationship by calling him Indiana instead of Junior and telling Indiana to let the Grail go, as there are things that are more important.
